    In accordance with the 2015-2018 Collective Bargaining Agreement, career employees represented by the APWU will receive a 25 cent per hour cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), effective March 3, 2018. The increase is the result of a rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-W). It will appear in paychecks dated March 23, 2018 (Pay Period 06-2018), and will total $520.

    Premise Technician Overtime Payment Issue Fixed

    During 2017 bargaining improvements were made in the overtime language for Premise Technicians (Appendix C Article 5.03).  Personal Days and Floating Holidays are now included in the calculation of hours counted towards weekly overtime.  The language took effect on June 25, 2017 but the company’s payroll systems were not updated to include this provision. We are happy to announce the issue has been resolved. Premise Technicians who were affected will be receiving a retroactive overtime pay correction on either their February 16th or February 23rd check, depending on their pay cycle.

    On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Ronald Batory as Federal Railroad Administrator. Batory has a 46-year career in railroad operations, with his most recent position being Chief Operating Officer and President of Conrail leading up to his retirement on March 31, 2017.
